A global study on news consumption found that 58 percent of Chileans felt that news outlets should take a clear position in favor of climate action, and just nine percent felt the opposite. By contrast, respondents from the United States, Germany, and Norway preferred news outlets to offer a range of views so people can make up their own minds. Portugal and the Philippines were the countries with the highest shares of respondents who felt that news coverage should take a stand against climate change action.
